Volunteer Coordinator
Adults ages 22+ who:
-
demonstrate experience and confidence in scheduling and coordinating people and events
-
demonstrate an ability to work with Sign-Up Genius, Excel, Word and other software used by office staff
-
excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-
are solutions-oriented for problems that may arise
-
are dependable and punctual
Required: criminal background check
Time Commitment: can commit a minimum of 2-3 hours weeks

Social Media Strategist
Adults ages 22+ who:
-
demonstrate the ability to develop a social media strategy to support R.E.A.D.’s mission and establish targets for increasing online reach

ability to transform small snippets of information into interesting and engaging stories suitable for various social media channels
-
post regular updates ( at least 3 times a week) to R.E.A.D.’s social media outlets, including news articles, blog posts, press releases, fundraising appeals, and any other promotional items

self-directed and detail-oriented
-
have strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
Required: Experience using key social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
Time Commitment: can commit a minimum of 4-5 hours weeks

Salesforce Consultant
Adults ages 22+ who:

demonstrated experience and working knowledge of Salesforce to help R.E.A.D. staff maintain its client database and create efficient evaluation reports for funders

ability to communicate/train R.E.A.D. staff in various aspects of Salesforce to help them with the database
Required: Experience with Salesforce
Time Commitment: as needed, maybe 1-2 hours a month

R.E.A.D. Books Tip Writer
Adults ages 22+ who:

read selected children’s books and write tips for families who receive the books
-
demonstrate the ability to synthesize and communicate the essentials of each book in an easy-to-read format

is able to develop enrichment activities for each book and write them in easy-to-read formats
-
self-directed and detail-oriented
-
have strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
Required: passion for children’s books
Preferred: education background in teaching or child development
Time Commitment: can commit to 3-5 books a month

Teen R.E.A.D.ing Ambassador
Young adults ages 14-18 who:
-
read selected YA and teen books
-
write an interesting and engaging review about the book for social media or R.E.A.D. website OR film a video review, no longer than 1 minute

self-directed and detail-oriented

have strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
Required: experience using key social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
Preferred: passion for reading
Time Commitment: can commit to 1 book a month
(each read book and review will equal 4 hours of community service)
